My fascination with how things work started when I was a child. I remember visiting my grandmother in Canton — she didn’t have toys in the house, but she kept a box of old locks under the stairs. I’d spend hours taking them apart, figuring out how they worked, and putting them back together again. That early curiosity for mechanics never left me.
As I grew older, that interest turned into a love for engines. I spent my time modifying cars and fixing friends’ boats, constantly learning and pushing myself to understand more. What began as a hobby eventually became a career when I joined the yachting industry in 2008 — and from there, I never looked back.
Over the next 15 years, I worked across the globe — from Italy, France, Spain, and Malta to Florida and the Caribbean, even crossing the Atlantic.
Along the way I turned my hand to almost everything: from solving problems on the go to managing multi-million-dollar refits and bringing older vessels up to code and higher standards. I took huge pride in every project, and this commitment eventually saw me headhunted for senior roles.
After nearly 20 years at sea, I made the decision to leave the superyacht world when I had my first child. Returning to my hometown of Cardiff allowed me to focus on family life.
Now with two children and a business of my own, I’ve found the perfect balance — bringing the same level of skill, care, and dedication that I honed on some of the world’s most prestigious vessels back home to South Wales.
Through BlueHull Marine Engineering Ltd, I’m proud to offer professional servicing, repairs, and diagnostics to private and commercial vessels across South Wales and Bristol.
Whether it’s a quick repair, a full service, or an emergency call-out, my goal is simple: to keep your vessel safe, reliable, and ready for the water.
“From managing superyacht refits to helping a local skipper get back on the water — I approach every job with the same passion and pride.”
